Church Bulletin - February 1, 2025

  • Today, Sunday, February 1st, we will be holding a collection in our church to support the Patriarchal Solidarity Fund with Ukraine. Due to the harsh winter and ongoing shelling, many people are suffering from the cold. This collection is being held at the request of our Bishop Benedict to help those in need. The letter of appeal from Bishop Benedict is posted on the announcement board at the entrance of the church.

  • All parishioners of the church are warmly invited to take an active part in the Annual Parish Council Meeting, today, right after the liturgy in the church dining hall. This is a parish-wide event, and your participation is truly valued.

  • On Monday, February 2nd, we will celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. This is one of the twelve major feasts in the Church calendar, and the Holy Day of Obligation. We will have the Liturgy at 9:00 AM at St. Demetrius Church and at 6:00 PM at St. John’s. After each Liturgy, there will be a blessing of candles, which parishioners can take home.

  • Saturday, February 7th, marks the first All Soul Saturday of this year, and we will begin the Sorokousty Prayer, which will also take place on each Saturday of the Great Lent. This is a special prayer for the departed, especially for our family members and friends. If you would like to include their names in the prayer list, please submit their names in the envelopes provided at the church entrance.
