Parish Feast of St. Demetrius: A Day of Faith, Fellowship, and Joy

On Sunday, our parish family came together to celebrate the Feast of St. Demetrius, the heavenly patron of our parish. The day was filled with prayer, gratitude, and joyful fellowship.

We began our celebration with the Divine Liturgy, followed by the Blessing of Water. During the service, we also had the special blessing of two icons — Blessed Klymentiy Sheptytsky and Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky — generously donated by Jordan Lammers in honor of our parish feast.

After the Liturgy, parishioners gathered for a traditional Ukrainian meal, lovingly prepared by the St. Demetrius Ladies Society. The homemade perohy and delicious food reflected the love and dedication that make our parish community so vibrant. We extend our deepest thanks to all who helped prepare and serve the meal, bringing warmth and joy to our celebration.

To conclude the festivities, everyone enjoyed a lively pie auction, led once again by our talented auctioneer Emil Anheluk, whose quick wit and energetic “auction rhythm” filled the room with laughter and excitement!

We are truly grateful to everyone who participated, volunteered, and shared in this wonderful day. The Feast of St. Demetrius reminded us of the strength of our faith, the unity of our parish, and the joy that comes when we gather together in Christ’s love.

St. Demetrius, pray for us!
